Young
Man Had A Dream
In 1999 Don McQuaid, President of Resort TV Network, set out to develop a communication tool in the Whistler market that would give all businesses, big and small, an entertaining and exciting televised medium to promote their products to the millions of resort guests. In November 2001, Resort TV Whistler was launched and found some immediate success. Initial surveys proved that RTVW appealed greatly to resort visitors ~ they tuned in repeatedly during their stay for more information about the weather and the resort. |

Who Caught The Car Very quickly, it became clear that Resort TV Whistler had potential to expand into other resorts across Canada. This spurred a desire to grow and grow quickly - especially since none of the major ski resorts in Canada had a similar resort information channel yet. Whistler Resort TV then became Resort Television Network Inc. (RTN) and grew to include stations in Banff & Canmore (Nov. 2002), Panorama (Dec. 2003), Tremblant (Feb.2004), Horseshoe & Beaver Valley and Talisman (Nov.2004). In total, over 5.7 million annual viewers from each of Canada’s top winter and summer resorts will be tuning in to Resort TV, making the Resort Television Network a powerful communication and advertising medium, one that reaches the most desirable demographics in the country. |
